Three steps, once

STEP 01
SIM into the collar

The collar takes its own SIM card, like a phone. The cheapest plan is enough, but the card must have mobile data and no PIN — the collar has no keypad to type one.
STEP 02
One text message

Enter the number printed on the collar and send the message the app has already written. In a minute or two the collar reports in by itself.
STEP 03
Name the dog, done

Say whose tracker it is and that is it. Next time you just open it and watch.

The collar gets a fix from the satellites — the same system your car navigation uses.
The network carries it over the collar’s own SIM — a few dozen bytes, which is why the cheapest plan is enough.
Your phone shows it on the map straight away, with no refreshing and no waiting.

Where there is no mobile coverage there is no reporting — nobody honest will tell you otherwise. The moment the collar has signal again, its last position lands on the map.

Questions

The questions that come first

Which collars are supported?

ICAR IK122T and IK122T Pro. The Pro adds vibration; everything else is the same.

Does the collar need a SIM card?

Yes, its own. The collar sends its position over the mobile network, like a phone. The card needs mobile data and no PIN.

How long does the battery last?

It depends on how often it reports. The collar carries a 4000 mAh battery: up to 30 days on standby (reporting once an hour), around 15 days reporting every 5 minutes, and about 60 hours in the fast 10-second mode. LIVE (every 5 seconds) draws the most, but it shuts itself off after 30 minutes, so it cannot flatten the battery while you are not watching.

What if the dog goes out of coverage?

You still see the last known position on the map and how old it is. The moment the collar has network again, a new position arrives on its own.

Can anyone else see my dog?

Only if you invite them into a hunt. Outside a hunt your dogs are visible to you alone. You share your own location only if you explicitly turn it on.

What happens to my data?

We do not sell it and we do not use it for ads. Dog positions are kept for 60 days and deleted in monthly blocks, no later than 92 days after they were recorded. You can delete your account yourself from the app. Details are in the privacy policy.

Is there an iPhone version?

It is in the works. Today DogTracker runs on Android — if you are on iPhone, write to support@dogtracker.app and we will tell you the moment it lands.
