Switching
Switch your ICAR collar to DogTracker with one SMS
Same collar, an app that gets you. If you already use an ICAR or Gooxota IK122T with the original app, switching takes one SMS: enter the tracker's number in DogTracker, send the prepared message, and within a minute or two the collar checks in with our server. All in your language, with group hunts and movement history.
Android. iPhone version in the works. The app is currently free.
01
What you need
- The collar you already use — ICAR or Gooxota, IK122T or IK122T Pro.
- The SIM card that is already in it — it stays the same. Before you switch, check that it has mobile data and credit, and that its PIN is turned off.
- An Android phone with the DogTracker app.
02
Step by step
- Create a DogTracker account and confirm your email.
- Open Trackers → Add tracker and enter the device ID number — the 11 digits marked ID on the collar. Do not enter the longer 15-digit number or the SIM card number.
- No number on the collar? Tap "Can't see the number on the
collar?" and send the collar an SMS with the text
SL CX. Within a minute it replies with a message in which the first 11 digits after "SL CX:" are exactly that number. - Add the number of the SIM card in the collar too. It is optional, but then the next step is a single tap.
- Send the prepared SMS to the number of the SIM card in the
collar. The app writes it for you; it looks like this:
SL DPa.dogtracker.app#7700#. Do not change a single character. - Wait a minute or two. The collar replies with a message starting with "SL DP:", reports to our server and attaches itself to your account — the entry disappears from the "Pending requests" list.
- Assign a dog to the collar — name, breed, photo.
03
What changes
- The original ICAR app no longer receives positions. The collar sends its data to one server only — from now on, ours.
- History from the original app is not carried over to DogTracker; your new history starts from the switch.
- The collar and the SIM card stay the same — there is nothing new to buy.
- The SMS is sent only once. After that the collar reports on its own, over the internet.
- Everything is in your language — Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian, English, German, French and Italian — along with group hunts and movement history.

Going back to the original app
The same procedure, just with the manufacturer's address: send the
collar the SMS SL DPa.icargps.net#7700# and it returns to the
manufacturer's server. Then release it in DogTracker: Trackers → the collar →
"Release tracker".
05
When something goes wrong
I sent the SMS and the collar is not reporting
Give it two or three minutes, then check in order. The first two cover most cases: is the PIN on the card disabled (the collar has no keypad to enter one) and does the card have mobile data, not just calls and SMS. Both take a minute to check by putting the card back in a phone. Only then look at whether the collar is switched on and whether the message actually went to that card's number rather than some other one. If all of that checks out, send the prepared message again — sending it twice does no harm.
The app cannot open my SMS app, or the message will not send
Copy the message text out of the app and send it by hand from your own SMS app to the SIM number in the collar. Do not change the text — not one character. If your carrier rejects it, check that the card you are sending from has credit.
The app will not accept the collar number I typed in
That field wants the 11-digit device ID number printed on the collar itself — not the SIM number. The SIM number goes in its own separate field, and it is optional.
How much does the app cost?
It is currently free. If that changes, we will let you know at least 60 days in advance.
