Delete your account
You can permanently delete your DogTracker account at any time — directly in the app or, if you no longer have access to the app, by email request. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Last updated: September 14, 2026.
01
Delete in the app (recommended)
- Open the Profile tab and tap Settings.
- At the bottom, under Other, tap Delete account.
- Type your password into Confirm with password — this protects your account if your phone ends up in the wrong hands. If you have linked trackers, also tick the confirmation that they will be unlinked.
- Tap Delete account. The account is deleted immediately and you are signed out on every device.
02
Delete without access to the app
If you no longer have your phone or access to the app, send a request to support@dogtracker.app with the subject “Account deletion” — from the email address your account is registered with (that is how we know the request comes from the account owner). We process requests within 7 days at the latest and confirm by replying to the same email. The deletion is the same as in the app.
If you cannot sign in only because you forgot your password, set a new one with “Forgot your password?” on the sign-in screen.
03
What is deleted, what is retained
Immediately on deletion:
- your name, email address, username, contact, Admin/SOS number and password are permanently removed — the account remains only as an anonymous number, cannot be used or recovered, and your email address and username become free for a new account;
- all signed-in sessions (with IP address and device label), push tokens and your last position from a hunt are deleted; your email address is removed from hunt invitations;
- dogs that were never in a hunt are deleted completely; the others remain only as “Obrisani pas” (“Deleted dog”), without breed, notes, date of birth or photo. The photo files are removed from the server by the daily clean-up, within 2 days at the latest;
- in the reports of finished hunts, your name and your dogs’ names are replaced with the labels “Obrisani korisnik” (“Deleted user”) and “Obrisani pas” (“Deleted dog”);
- all of your GPS trackers are released from the account, their subscriptions are cancelled and the SIM card numbers saved for them are deleted; collar claim requests that are still pending are cancelled.
What is kept, and for how long:
- collar GPS positions are deleted as always: after 60 days, in monthly blocks, no later than 92 days after they were recorded (see the Privacy policy);
- finished group hunts stay visible to the other participants — with “Obrisani korisnik” instead of your name and the dogs’ last position at the end of the hunt — until they are deleted, 6 months after the hunt;
- the security log — failed sign-in attempts (the email or username typed and the IP address), collar claim attempts and password changes — for 12 months;
- the history of commands sent to collars for 7 days, and of commands that act on the dog (such as vibration) for 180 days;
- nightly backups of the database and photos contain the data as it was before deletion and are deleted no later than 16 days afterwards; server logs (IP address, time, request address) are kept no longer than 30 days, for security and troubleshooting;
- the record of collars and subscriptions — which account had which collar and when, the country determined at claim time, and payments, if there were any — is kept, but without name or email, linked only to the anonymous account number.

What happens to the collars
Deleting your account makes your trackers free to be claimed again straight away — anyone with physical access to the collar (SMS setup) can claim it to their own account. If you are selling or giving the collars away, that is what you want; if you are keeping them, you can claim them again from a new account after deletion. A new owner does not see positions from before they claimed the collar.
Only one thing stays with the device itself: the Admin/SOS number the app wrote into the collar remains there until the new owner replaces it with their own. The SIM card number saved for the collar is deleted together with your account, so the new owner does not see it.
